Dr. Eric Griesshaber is a lifelong South Bay resident. He grew up in the San Jose area and attended Leigh High School. Bonding with the Griesshaber family German Shepherd, Hilde, and later volunteering helping orphaned and injured wildlife as a teenager convinced him that his calling was a career in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Griesshaber attended UC Davis, earning both undergraduate and graduate degrees at one of our country’s finest Veterinary institutions. It was at UCD Davis that Eric adopted Penny, a Husky Rottweiler cross he met while performing Penny’s spay surgery. The pair quickly became inseparable running partners.
Dr. Griesshaber has owned and operated two AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) certified Veterinary Hospitals. The American Animal Hospital Association sets the standards to which member hospitals are held accountable. He maintains Acadia Veterinary Clinic to the same tight AAHA standards of excellence the practice itself has enjoyed for over 25 years. Dr. Griesshaber has owned Acadia since 2007. Dr. Griesshaber believes that everyone must do their part to help our shared environment and has recently raised Acadia to become GREEN CERTIFIED, one of the few Veterinary Hospitals to have earned that honor.
Always a fitness buff, Dr. Griesshaber enjoys sports activities with his two sons, working out at the gym, participating in obstacle course “mud runs”, coaching youth soccer, go-kart racing, listening to music and family outings and playtime with his family pets.
