Dr. Eric Griesshaber has been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years. His special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and general surgery.

Dr. Eric Griesshaber grew up with the desire to become a veterinarian after developing a close bond with his family’s German shepherd, Hilde. He grew up in the San Jose area, attended Leigh High School, and volunteered for orphaned and injured wildlife as a teenager.

He attended U.C. Davis as an undergraduate in Animal Science and the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. During his time at U.C. Dr. Griesshaber performed a spay procedure and Penny became a new member of the family.

After graduation from U.C. Davis, Eric settled in San Jose where Dr. Eric Griesshaber worked for a multi-doctor hospital from 1998 to 2002. In 2002, he purchased Portola Valley Veterinary Clinic. He practiced and managed PVVC from 2002 to 2007, where he and his team brought the practice up to the AAHA standards and gained AAHA accreditation in 2005. In 2007, he acquired and began practicing at Acadia Veterinary Clinic.

When not at work Eric enjoys watching his son’s play soccer and enjoys sports including: tennis, snowboarding, soccer, Muay Thai, swimming, Sealfit and obstacle/mud races. Non sport hobbies include travel, food and wine.
